TTCOTU entry 01.5: Grandpapier and my new liking to zoe

Grandpapier came out!!!!

It's so exciting to get even more of season six. I mean, the eps have been absolutely stunning so far, and this one has been no exception. SO, short summary: It delves a little bit more into the character of Zoe and her strong sense of justice, we watch as she becomes increasingly frustrated with how there are asshples living in Paris. (who knew!!). Including the ones at her school, y'know the trio that convinced Kim that kissing his girlfriend would give him chlamidya  or something?

Those guys. The episode really starts to pick up steam (after bsome Chloe and Sabrina development!! and some abelism). When she sees Mr buguoir, (basically her dad now). get harassed by a bunch of thuggies after the movies he picked for the theateres she/s running suck.This prompts her to immediately transform into the aptly named: Fury.

And we learn that, apparently, how the suit looks depends on your emotions. which I know was only just written in, and that's why we haven't seen it before, (except for Rena maybe)  but the lack of continuity annoys me a bit. I get that intention can change the suit but zoe had no intention. maybe its more like inner deep subconscious intent? Maybe Marinette can push her emotions down enough that she doesn't look like antibug, h=or her desire to be ladybug is just so strong. That's probably the case for Adrien. Anyways it's exciting tho!!! The episode cuts to her harassing different assholes before the rest of the team notice and start going: "who dis? we should stop them?" Anyways akuma attack yadda yadda yadda....

Off topic but max is sort of carrying the fights he's so overworked TT. Like, idk if you'll get this reference but I fear he's the black hole of this season. (except his voice isn't sexy). And so they defeat the Akuma, the end. (also I like how chat doen't just let him walk away here, like yes, boss him around. I need all the goofy enrgy  can get before the pink and green stiuationship comes knocking.

Okay now for my thoughts...

Firstly- It's really interesting to me to see how having the power of-basically a demigod- can and likely does kind of warp the developing minds of the miraculous cast. Like we see with zoe here, whereas someone like you or me might accept the reality of the unfairness of the world, she almost goes too far to fix it, because she belives she can. It's more frustrating to her because she SHOULD have power over people like this. 

The episode winds up  taking a more, "you should have hope approach" and less of a, "don't go crazy with the power to fix and control, and turn into Satan to save your pink haired gf"   route.  Still, I just think if someone wrote a fic or a comic exploring this dangerous side of power more, it'd be super cool!! Because the episode doesn't end with zoe toattally swearing off being a vigilante

Secondly: If civil war does happen, I think zoe is def on chat noirs side. Idk i just feel like she would be. even if she had a criush on marinette once, she's just a bit more bold y'know? And then maybe Sabrina would be on marinettes side..? spiicy~  (Also I've just unlocked the new headcannon that she looks up to all her friends ever aicne the new york incident (whatever it was), but given her strong sense of justice, especially mylene.)

Anyways as you can clearly tell, I liked this episode. It developed zoe in a way that made me really start to like her. She's cute! she's fun! she might continue being a vigilante! (shes more interesting than sublime) I can't help but wonder if her development was faster, or if she was introduced like theis, people would like her more. (that said maybe they needed to let the rage subside first). Chloe stans are scary, but they gotta admit Zoe is cool now. like idc if Chloe was Iconic, she wasn't cool,gay, and fighting petty crime. 

Only thing weird about this episode it was how the hair looks. Did a new studio work it or something??? I wear it always looks like theres a light shining through it. 

The most glaring example i can think of is max's hair at the begining of the big fight. In fact, I got curious, so I looked up a picture of his hair in another fight, and:

Even in samg style, I feel like It wasn't so bad. Here, he's in a dark ienviroment, and his hair doesn't look all....Glowstick-y...

 SUblimes is the worst of it. She looks so washed out. I get that plainum blonde ppl exist but she's giving plaent sick and dying of the plague. there's already bnlondes in this show but c'mon.z  BUt uhmm anyways pretty good, great ep even. The message at the end that you dontr finna suit up all the time, (or that theres niceness in the world sometimes) is sweet, especially with the sucky reality of plaent earth rn.
