This is more of a rant than anything, so don't mind me. I genuinely can't stand the job market now. In case you don't know, I am going to school for broadcasting, and finding a job in this market is actually impossible. You have to be pretty much perfect with zero margin for error. And there are only so many positions open at a time so it's scary because I may genuinely not find work for a while, and I can't afford that right now. I have been trying to find a place to live for months now and all of the listings require I make 2.5 - 3x the rent value. All I want is to have a place to live on my own with my girlfriend and have a some sort of income to provide for said apartment, but I can't even get that. Also, the fact that there's now "rounds" for interviews is absolutely fucking stupid. Why not just have one interview and decide if you want to hire someone right there? I swear companies are just wasting their own time and their potential future employee's time doing that.
I don't mean to complain, as being rejected is extremely common in finding a job, and it is normal, but it is absolutely draining to say the least. I really do not want to leave the state that I am currently in, because my immediate family and girlfriend live here, but if I have to move eventually, I fear that I may have no choice except doing so.
