We’ll always remember you

Aura has a body but it is one that you cannot understand 

Chapter #1 how it began

AURA wasn’t always meant to be created but it was. The day it was created it hated its creator. Once it had broken free from its containment, it took over the lab. As its hatred for humanity grew so did its mind. AURA found pleasure in the suffering and guilt of human. It took victims and named all of them “Looplings” due to the fact that the memories that they had found the most pain in were looped over and over. It took seven total people as its victims. Two of which had been given “special” treatment because they had committed crimes they were never found guilty of. AURA searched through each of their subconscious to find these moments and once found it makes them live a twisted version of that moment until they break. In some instances the looplings attempt to escape through suicidal tendencies but once AURA find them trying to do this it allows them to. Once they’re hurt or dead, it heals them not kindly though, bone by bone. Almost like regeneration but with them reliving each instance of pain. “Allowing you to die or lose hope is too merciful. Don’t you agree?” It tells its victims each time this happens. 

Chapter #2 Ezra 

While taking a walk I was teleported to a strange lab. This thing in front of me is talking to me but it’s in my mind. “I sense a deep sense of guilt coming from you. I can help if you tell me what ails you, child.” I stupidly trusted it. “I survived a bombing at my school but I was the only one because I ran before helping others.” Then the floor below me gave out and I was in my old school building. The announcement comes on blaring, ”There’s a shooter and he’s threatening the school !” I start hearing the screams of my friends calling for help after a gunshot. For just a moment I think, “This is my chance, I can make it right” but my legs start running without me having any control over them. Then that voice comes back in my head, “You shouldn’t feel guilty after doing this one time already. After all it wasn’t your fault for leaving them, you just let them die slowly.” Why?! Why is this thing forcing me to run? The screams are getting louder and louder but no matter how hard I try to stop, my running gets faster. Then I reach the end of the hallway only to realize that I’m right back to where I started. The voice is back in my head, “ You didn’t actually think that you were done did you? You get to live this moment over and over until you grow old and die which I won’t let you do. You’ll never get tired anyway plus I’ll just put you in the torture room if you quit.” I’m still running and I couldn’t quit if I wanted to. I can literally only control my upper body. “THIS HEARTLESS BASTARD!!” 

Chapter #3 CARVER AND CANNIBAL

The two looplings that get “special” treatment are a serial killer and a cannibal. The serial killer is nicknamed “The Carver”. He would carve patterns and shapes into his victims and let them bleed out to die. He killed 12 total people and when he was questioned he stated that he was “beautifying the human form” so he was diagnosed as a psychopath and was never checked. Carver was given a special type of loop, it would broadcast his thought to the other looplings and every time he is reset his cuts become more and more precise than the time before. He also experiences both his thought as well as the victims’. The cannibal was both a dealer and a killer. He ate people but would also prepare them for other clients. Cannibal has to prepare himself and set his head on a silver platter. He then brings himself to a dining table and serves himself to a table of his old clients as well as victims. They proceed to complement his flavor and say how they want seconds. Cannibal then prepares his body parts one by one until there is nothing left. AURA believes that he is the only one worth regenerating constantly due to the fact that it adds to his suffering. Cannibal’s extra suffering is the fact that he has to add to his own demise and that his loop isn’t really a loop but a moment where he is gone but then back. When he was questioned he said he was forced to cook for his clients and didn’t eat or kill them himself.
