I originally made this blog on my Ko-Fi to introduce myself and my project.

You can call me Silly, Yumekari, or Silly Yumekari, any nickname works! I’m 18 (turning 19 this December 5th) and originally from Spain, so please forgive me if my English isn’t perfect. Right now, I’m studying at an art school, im mostly focusing on digital art, which is where I feel the most at home.

I was diagnosed with ADHD not too long ago, and I’m also dealing with the aftereffects of nearly ten years of being bullied at school. Because of that, I struggle with social anxiety, and adapting to “normal” life isn’t always easy to me.

𝑾𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑨𝑴 𝑰 𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮?

I’ve been dreaming about making a visual novel since I was 15. Honestly, I used to spend my math classes secretly programming little things in Ren’Py instead of paying attention so, yes, I’ve got the basics down.

My main project now is to create a psychological horror visual novel, with an “unhealthy love interest” the type of character people usually call a yandere. In my case, he’ll be a male character, since I’ve always loved exploring male yandere characters in stories. But let me be very clear: the yandere in my game will not be romanticized, glorified, or treated as something cute. I want to dive into the darker, more unsettling aspects of these characters, the way they should be portrayed in horror.

𝑺𝑶𝑴𝑬𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑺 𝑴𝒀 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑱𝑬𝑪𝑻 "𝑫𝑰𝑭𝑭𝑬𝑹𝑬𝑵𝑻"?

I wouldn’t say that its too “different,” but I want my story to represent people who often feel left out or misunderstood. That’s why my main character will have social anxiety. As someone who lives with it, I know the experience firsthand, and I’ve always wanted to play a game where I could actually relate to the protagonist, I’ve gotten tired of playing games where I just can’t relate to the main character, and I thought there must be others who feel the same way. That’s why I want to create a protagonist for all of us who sometimes feel “weird” or “different” in social situations.

Some features I already know I want to include:

• The option to choose your pronouns.

• The ability to customize your character’s appearance.

• Multiple endings (of course).

• And a few secrets I’ll keep hidden for now!

At my art school, every student at the second school year has to create a Final Project to present at the end of the year. The moment I heard about it, I already knew what I wanted to do: the demo of a visual novel. Obviously, I can’t complete the entire game in just nine months, but I’ll have enough time to create a solid demo and bring this idea to life.

This is a project I’ve been wanting to do for years, and now I finally have the chance to turn it into something real.

For now, I’m the only one working on this project. I handle everything: programming, music, art, writing, story, and more.
