The Priestess - colored pencil drawing, 2013

This piece was a stylistic shoutout to a banned Soviet-era film called "The Color of Pomegranates" (you can find the original film on youtube here, OR I highly recommend the Juno Reactor re-score of the film that you can find here!).  I was re-introduced to the film by way of this music video that was part of a diptych by Flesh Flash.

This was also the first piece where I became obsessed with the "horns for eyes" concept.  To this day I'm not entirely sure what it means...it kind of came to me in some half-asleep state at some unholy hour of the morning.
