Why I shouldn't have done an online course

kusuriuri ri

Yeah, no, online school was a bad decision.

Don't get me wrong, education is a big yippee(!!) but... ughhhhhh... I severely regret my decision to do an online course.

Thankfully it's only for one class for one semester... a Mythology course.

Mythology is fun and interesting, it's probably one of my favorite subjects to learn about, but trying to pluck out specific parts of a part of a rich mythology to talk about feels like trying to separate one hair from a full head of it without plucking it. Sure, you're able to pull a single strand away, but it's so interconnected with the rest of the hair that about five-to-ten strands decide to latch on it and follow.

An assignment I'm working on right now is basically writing a few paragraphs about two goddesses of my choosing. I decided to write about Harmonia (Greek goddess of (you guessed it) harmony and concord) and Skaði, who is a Norse goddess of winter, mountains, skiing, and bowhunting. I didn't have any issues with writing about Harmonia, I've already had an interest with the Greek mythos since fifth grade, but this is really my first exposure to Norse mythology other than Marvel (which is hardly a good introduction to ANY mythology), and the last colossus in 'Shadow of the Colossus' being named Odin (side note: I'm currently singing "Colossus (et Spiritus)" for choir, peak song with a really fun tenor line (imo)). I'm trying to write about her genealogy, but it's basically going like "okay, what the fuck is a jötunn? who is Njörðr and Æsir? Alright, I know who Odin is--Oh my goodness what am I looking at???" Seriously, looking at Skaði's wikipage and trying to read it is probably how all those dead people felt trying to count how many wings scp 001 has. Futile and confusing.

Also, I have ADHD, which means I'm basically horrible at pacing myself when there is no clear consequence for any form of pacing. Now, I'm about ten assignments behind and struggling to catch up. Kill me.
