I love summer.

I love summer, because it reminds me of 2021.

Where I spent every second of the holidays belting Olivia Rodrigo.

I sang while sat at my laptop, on my desk, in the warm sun.

I would drive up and down the streets of Bloxburg, delivering pizza after pizza.

All to end up with some money, which I always raced to spend on a brand hew house design.

I love summer, because it reminds me of my dog.

Sunny days spent sat on the hot concrete outside, ice cream in one hand, scooter handle in the other.

I ate while singing to my dear old dog, Happy.

I would ride my brothers scooter up and down the long slab of pavement that led to our side fence.

All to run away screaming, because for some reason me and my siblings always thought a killer clown would jump out at us.

I love summer, because it reminds me of discovery.

Nights spent wondering who I was and what I wanted to be.

I wondered while sad music filled my ears and tears wet my cheeks.

I would pout day in and day out, confused and naive, young mind so influenced by the adults I saw on social media.

All to finally realise I was just a girl, who loved pink, and loved her family.

I love summer, because it reminds me of something as silly as Royale High.

I would waste away my days playing that game, dressing up and making friends, pretending I was a secret lost princess.

I laughed while my brothers played cricket outside, and my computer begged me to turn it off as the fan become louder then my songs playing from my dads old Iphone 6.

I would fly up and down the corridoors of the castle, in search of diamonds to get me closer to a skirt I wanted.

All to end up with only fifty diamonds at the end of it all, but a hundred new friends to laugh with.

I love summer, because in a country like Australia, you don't have a choice but to enjoy the heat.

I love summer, for no particular reason, apart from the fact that little me made the best memories during it.

Oh how I love summer.
