just thinking about my personal relationship with game soundtracks and past experiences. gaming is something i have come to enjoy throughout most of my life- on and off in actually in practice but it is on my mind often when i am not in a playing-mood. something quite important to me when it comes to games is the soundtracks- to the point of me spending months of my life only listening to game OST's.
some of the most notable in todays culture are the minecraft, the legend of zelda, or animal crossing soundtracks. often because of the nostalgia factor. some my own favourites are the skyrim and aquaria soundtracks. (DOOMs is also great)
i remember, when i was in highschool, everyday- no matter how cold it was, i would go for a walk down to the park by the lake, or through the woods, or through the graveyard, really anywhere, an hour or two or more before and then to my curfew and just listen to soundtracks. it was almost meditative. sometimes it felt like i was just pretending to be in the videogame- it was important to me to only listen to "happy" songs while walking through the woods unless i wanted to feel afraid lol, the only time i would play something freaky or scary is when i would invite my friends on these walks with me and it would be moreso funny to have it playing.
i know that it is very helpful to listen to certain playlists or OST's when doing creative/personal writing as it can help with "getting into the mood" when writing. blah blah blah, running out of thought power i just love game OST's.
my love also carrys onto film and movie soundtracks as well, i was just thinking about gaming tracks- what are some that you like and/or love? film tracks are welcome too- just share your thought:)
