its like everywhere you go you cant escape some new bullshit product... i just saw an ad for some anti aging shit and it prompted me to make this post because i see stuff like this all the time and it irritates me so much its like "look 20 years younger!!" and its like whyyy would i care though... and i mean you could be like Well taylor thats not that bad but its just like. yall hear about ARMPIT CONCEALER. thats a thing now. thats a thing now that tiktok users want to buy because tiktokers will be paid to promote that and say some absolute bs being like "ive always been Soooo insecure about my fucking ARMPITS.. good thing theres a product for it now!! BUY BUY BUY CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME!!!" and obviously the beauty industry has always been profiting off of womens insecurities, but nowadays its even worse because now theyre just making insecurities up and putting it all over social media... and because everyone is so obsessed with "skincare!!" they just eat that shit up man... and you could ALSO say Well taylor!!! Let women do what they want!!! Let women do what makes them happy!! AND IM NOT SAYING ok Im not saying women cant do whatever they want because like what say do i have in that but its just like. you cant say you cover yourself in layers and layers of face masks and lip masks and those fucking things that wrap around your chin (I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THATS FOR) solely because you enjoy that. even if you are just really really passionate about skincare and wanting to look good like you shouldnt need that many products to do that anyways like i use face wash and one pump of cerave face moisturizer every day and i have the EXACT SAME SKIN any skincare influencer would.... i dont know if any of this post made sense i just wanted to rant about that

As a woman, I completely agree with you. I had no idea that "armpit concealer" was even a thing until now, though it sounds completely ridiculous.
On a related note, maybe it's a good thing that my sense of fashion (including beauty, of course) is permanently stuck in 2005 or so, because that means I don't have to worry about mindlessly chasing stupid new trends as opposed to sticking with what I already know and love, especially so after hearing about this.

It's so crazy with all this skincare (or should I say 'skincrap'? lol) obsession, and combined with the fact that heaps of minors are on things like tiktok just makes it worse - kid you not, juniors from my school look like they could be seniors, and I'm 17, they're like 12-13...
They've also completely eradicated the awkward phase, where you just wear whatever you think is cool without thinking 'do these go together' or 'how will people think of me'.
exactttlyyyy bro i remember when i was 12 i had a chopped ass haircut and braces and wore whatever shitty clothes i could find at walmart and now its like. now they look like freaking adults its soo weird
