Based on a novel (which I haven't read) this show is a little gem I'd seen an ad for on Youtube a while ago. I hadn't really minded it until yesterday, when bored out of logic, I decided to boot the family Netflix and watch the 1st episode... & the 2nd... & 3rd. Then I stopped (cuz gym was calling) but I honestly could've watched it all through.
It tells the story of a psycopathic & depressed boy & girl of 17 who, displeased with their basic bore of a town, flee to find themselves & each other.
The pace is good, the protagonists are really fucking good & the whole show (which is 2 seasons, 8 episodes each long) overall reminds me a lot of runaway films from the 60s & 70s, especially for some reason Pierrot le Fou. You get action you just wouldn't get in the modern day, full of convenient phones, alarms, radars, etc.
I will warn there's depictions of blood in every episode, childhood trauma, you prob can imagine the rest so yeah.
So far so good it seems, very much recommend.
