okay, now for a real blog post... pretend it's my first one (ノ*°▽°*)
one of the things I absolutely love to do is shop. maybe it's the new yorker in me, or maybe I just buy things to ignore the fact I'm actually not in new york, and that really bums me out. either way, if I like something, chances are it's going in the bag. I commonly shop online, but lately, I've been wanting to shop in-store more since online shopping is completely different than how it used to be. with everything becoming increasingly more expensive due to tariffs and corporate greed, managing to find affordable goods is practically my lifeline as a shopaholic!
therefore, allow me to put you on! (≧▽≦) / I've been testing different products at my local dollar tree for a while now and can vouch that they have a few things that are totally worth your time! they have a decent selection of makeup and skincare tunder $5, with most items being on average $1.25 as of november 2025.
today, I went to dollar tree for two things: ioni lashes and global beauty care's "glass skin" line. I'll talk about global beauty care in a later post — ioni is the star of the show this time.
the first thing I noticed upon entering the health & beauty aisle was that there were one of those free standing displays halfway in, ioni branded. curious, i made my way to it to see what was there and found myself in lash heaven.
behold:

every. lash. you. can. imagine. from cluster strips to individuals, they were ALL here in one big, organized chaos (just like me fr).
literally falling to my knees (which I'd later regret), I sifted through almost every hook in search of wispy and spiky cluster lashes. needless to say, there was a lot of variety!
I originally came in search of the ioni: lunar zodiac lash of gold collection as recommended through tiktok, but there were other collections as well! don't worry, I know everyone doesn't use (or like) tiktok, so I've taken the liberty of snapping photos of each item I got, hooray! o(≧▽≦)o
starting with the lash of gold collection — the actual lashes I came looking for — it's easy to see why I wanted them; the packaging is GORGEOUS, and each pack features one of the twelve lunar zodiacs. pretty cool!
azure dragon (quinglong)

what drew me to these lashes were, of course, the spikes! these were actually in the tiktok I linked earlier, so naturally, I grabbed three of these.
white tiger (báihǔ)

I don't often buy fox-eye style lashes, but I thought these were pretty cute! they'd be perfect for more smokey, sultry gal make, which is why I thought to take three of these as well.
dragon (lóng)

honestly, I was hesitant about these lashes. it's hard to tell due to the contrast, but these lashes are black and brown. I feel like the brown won't be as noticeable, but perhaps mascara can make them stand out more. I was actually looking for the rat (shǔ), but unfortunately for me, they didn't have it, so I got this one instead (つω`。)
next up: the dia de los muertos collection. I didn't think I'd like this collection as much as the lash of gold. the lashes I found weren't as wispy-looking, but I discovered you can easily DIY your own manhua lashes with some lash glue and a pair tweezers. again, I found this out thanks to tiktok; you basically put a little lash glue on a segment of the lashes and pinch them together — so simple, it's stupid! why didn't I think of that?
celia

I like that you can easily see the segments in the lashline, it'll make it easier to me to create spikes later on! I took two of these.
araceli

"wispy full cluster cateye" implies there is a "wispy 'boneless' cluster cateye," but I couldn't find it! still, I like that these are basically a thicker, fluffier version of the celia lashes — almost as if it were doubled-up. honestly, these may be better candidates for the manhua lash hack. I also grabbed two of these.
finally: the glow-getter collection. I thought the packaging for this line was soooo stinkin' cute! I also really liked the messages on the boxes — it's a sweet touch (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b!
wispy medium cluster spiky doll

confession: these were the first lashes I actually looked at on the display. maybe I'm just a sucker for purple, but the lashes were too cute to pass up. plus, there's a cute snail on it! how could I ignore that? got two just because.
kawaii doll spiky

saving the best for last, this lash had me in a chokehold the moment I laid eyes on it. these are the perfect lashes for an everyday douyin look, and I feel like I'll be wearing these babies often whenever I get to them — likely when my makeup skills improve and I can actually pull off a douyin look (//▽//) I only managed to find two of these, but if there were more, I definitely would've snatched them up!
that's all for now! there were a lot more lashes on display, but with over 10+ lashes — about $18-ish total — it's fair to say I'm covered for a good while. I hope my post has inspired you to try out some lashes from dollar tree! and if not, well..
later babes, johnnie! ☆⌒(ゝ。∂)
