woop woop!! its time for the Q&A!!
thank you so much to everyone who submitted questions, i had so much fun answering them! i was so surprised that so many people wanted to participate, and im so grateful to everyone... im also grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout the years, be it by reading my blogs or interacting with whatever silly things i post on the bulletin board. it makes me so happy that ive cultivated such a wonderful community, you all make me feel so loved. thank you all so much. Antama loves you~
okay!! enough sappiness, let's get into these questions!
~
Q: What made you want to join spacehey? / how did you find out about spacehey?
A: i was really obsessed with early 2000s emo/scene myspace culture. if anyone is still active from when i first joined, im sure you remember how my profile used to look, lol. so, i vividly remember watching a tiktok by @theemochronicles in 2021, and she mentioned this myspace revival website called spacehey! i made an account that day and immediately told all of my friends about it, and ive been here ever since! i had been obsessed with the old web and the early internet for years before i joined, and had been searching for something like spacehey for so long, so it just felt like a match made in heaven, haha.
Q: what's the most valuable lesson you've learned from your time on spacehey?
A: i think the most valuable lesson has definitely been that community can be found anywhere. i think i got really lucky when i first joined that spacehey was really popping off, so it made making my first few friends really easy and encouraged me to keep going. spacehey is really unlike any other social media site: you have to actively seek out the things you want to see, and you have to engage with topics you like and with other users. theres no algorithm that feeds you endless targeted content, and because of that, i could have very easily joined during a slow period and gotten discouraged, but i didnt thankfully. when i joined, i think a lot of people felt the same way i did, so we all tried our best to make a community. however, there are periods of time where spacehey is really slow, but it still hasnt discouraged me or made me want to stop! and its because ive fostered such a wonderful community through my blog and interacting with people, and that took a lot of work. so, that just solidified that community is everywhere if you want to seek it out!
Q: how do you think spacehey has changed over the years? a lot of people complain that it's too negative- do you agree?
A: im kind of 50/50 on this topic. on one hand, i dont think spacehey has changed all that much, but i think its because i interact with a very specific community that cares about keeping spacehey a nice place. but on the other hand, i do see where people are coming from. because spacehey isnt a social media giant, i think people feel comfortable sharing their negative feelings here, and unfortunately, negativity is often what gets the most attention (thats not a dig at people who vent on here, btw. they deserve to post whatever they like). i also think a lot of new users join spacehey expecting it to be like tiktok or twitter, and they bring a lot of that energy over here, and veteran users notice that and it annoys them. so i think thats another two kinds of negativity that appears. ive also noticed a lot more right-wing and/or otherwise bigoted people are popping up on here, and they spew a bunch of their bullshit and others get riled up. so, all this to say, i dont think spacehey is necessarily “too negative,” i think the problem is what i mentioned earlier: negativity is what gets the most attention, so it can seem that this is a more negative environment than it really is. but all in all, i dont think spacehey, at least for me and what i interact with, has changed all that much.
Q: im so sorry if u already talked abt this in the past but how did u know u wanted to become a gal? also happy 4 year anniversary!!! :D / what made you get into gyaru? (sorry, if you've already answered this question before) / What/who (if an online or real life figure) got you into gyaru/how did you find out about it?
A: so to answer these questions, i need to go back in time (lol). i first discovered anime when i was 9 (i believe?), but before that, i had been on the internet for a while. i honestly shouldnt have been because i was watching insane shit at like, 6 years old, but during that time i discovered the “living doll” community, and started watching people like Venus Angelic. that was how i was first introduced to j-fashion as a whole, and the seed had been planted, lol. so, when i started watching anime, i saw these characters with tacky makeup and clothes, no-nonsense attitudes, etc. it was just something i’d never seen before. more often than not, these characters were portrayed as the bullies and the antithesis of a perfect anime girl, but i couldnt help but be intrigued. after a while of seeing these characters, i think i literally googled “tan anime girls” and lo and behold, i discovered gyaru! i went down a rabbit hole and was just mystified. gyaru stayed in the back of my head for years after that, just as something i admired. then somewhere between 2020-2022, gyaru blew up on tiktok and i started engaging with a lot of gyaru content, and i kept having this feeling that i wanted to be a gal. the gals i had seen just looked so free and confident, and i really wanted to be like that. so, in 2023, i decided to take the plunge and be a full-time gal! i did a lot of research and after seeing gals like Harutamu, Gehako, Tomonya, and Ayutama, i only felt more inspired.
Q: what was the first gyaru substyle you tired out when you became a gal/ were a baby gal?
A: my first substyle was Goshikku! when i became a gal, i was just coming out of being emo and i thought Goshikku was the perfect match for me! sadly, i was a baby gal so while i had fun with it, i think i just looked plain silly when i look back on it now, lol.
Q: favorite clothing item in your closet right now?
A: ooh, this is a hard one!! i try to keep only things i like in my closet, so i have a few favorites… i think right now this vintage top i got from depop a few years ago, i believe the brand is One World? it’s so flattering on me and it’s my favorite “going out” top, lol. i wear it whenever i cant decide on an outfit bc its just perfect for me. i’ll try to find a picture!

Q: have you ever beat the ender dragon in minecraft?
A: i havent :( ive been debating making a new world and doing an stampylongnose style “quest to kill the ender dragon” run for a while, but i lowkey hate new minecraft… (;_;) maybe i’ll suck it up and do it soon!
Q: favorite meme?
A: omg this is another difficult one… i have trouble with this bc a lot of the things i find funny are kind of lame LMAO, but i really like this genre of image xD
Q: what's ur fave star trek episode and why!!!!!!!!!! also happy spacehey anniversaryyyy, a million fold~ :333 i love seeing all ur bulletins and blogs, and i've learned so much about gyaru from you, you're so cool!!!
A: maybe im too freaked out but i love S2 Ep1 Amok Time, aka the pon farr episode lololol. i think its not only just a really amazing episode, but i think its hilarious that this was the first episode back from TOS’s cancellation and they decided to make it about horny Vulcan’s. also, its the first episode that has the Vulcan salute, so thats pretty cool! tysm for the sweet words, as well~
Q: any makeup tips?
A: my biggest tip is so use one of those chinese beauty sponges and flat brush, i’ll include a picture below! it was a total game changer for my base routine, and it just makes the entire process so much quicker. apply a thin layer of foundation or whatever product you like with the brush, and then go to town with the sponge. it makes the layers thin, which i prefer, since i hate the thick feeling of foundation. i really recommend it! i'll link the ones i bought ^^

Q: what made you start blogging on spacehey?
A: honestly, i started bc i was fed up, lol. i noticed nobody was really making comprehensive, detailed posts about gyaru anywhere, and the things i could find were just full of misinformation and poorly done. i wrote my first blog post in a half-rage, honestly! i just decided: if i want something done, i gotta do it myself, so here we are!
Q: best undertale character in your opinion?
A: im 100% biased bc i used to be IN LOVE with him, but i love Sans! i cant even lie, im still into him, but i just think he’s such a unique and complex character. i also love Asriel, because i love a character that haunts the narrative. also, Hopes and Dreams is one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed imo, and it plays during his fight! so Sans and Asriel are two of the best Undertale characters, imo!
Q: which one would you rather have for the rest of your life? headache or stomach ache?
A: im a headache girly, so i basically already live day to day with a headache. also, i had norovirus last year and im lowkey traumatized by stomach aches now, LMAO
Q: do you have a favorite para para dance?
A: yes! i loveee Cyber Dance and My Sweet Banana by Go Go Girls, and i also love Speedway by Niko!
