in the old myspace/early facebook days the internet was still a social place. a lot of people would actually make friends and try to meet up irl and go to events or parties and just have fun. we need to go back to that so bad (obviously with a healthy awareness of the dangers esp with strangers and creeps). we need to organize events and if not, at least start attending local ones again.
the online space can never replace real social interaction but outside of work/school we spend 90% of our time online. we don’t even meet up as much with our close friends anymore. we are slowly but surely unlearning our social skills. we don’t engage in clubs or organisations while they struggle to find new members. those connections are essential for human mental health.
no wonder so many young people feel so lonely loll that’s the logical consequence. so yeah let’s change that

fo shizzle. It would be pretty cool to meet people on here irl but the world is a big place and things can get expensive. Though this is probably the closest place we have to the "town square" of the internet (twitter can never LOL).
