literally how do you diy clothes to last. i've been wanting more emo and scene clothes and i know the only ethical ways are to thrift and diy. i made like halter tops but thats all i know how to make. i know that i can also paint my clothes, which i've tried before, but i ran out of ideas. i just got a sewing machine for my birthday, i just don't know what to make. if anyone has any ideas that i could do, i'd greatly appreciate that! :]

ive never been very alt, but i used to keep the scraps from my cut up clothes to make patches, more clothes, accessories etc. if you accumulate enough you can make patchworky pieces. i also collected old clothes from friends and family for diy to keep fabric cost down. you can use clothes yu already like to use as patterns for future pieces instead of purchasing them as well. i would also make diy custom badges with metal caps (the ones you get from beer ?) and soda tabs, and secure them with safety pins (there must be tutorials online for this, but its very fun).
