Obviously, I'm talking about eating disorders here, please don't read if this triggers you ~!!!!!
Okay, so obviously, eating disorders are never good. Yet, they're portrayed as something that can be beautiful; clearly, they never are. I've never seen any form of media show the true bad sides of things, such as anorexia, binge eating and bulimia. Anorexics always seem to be portrayed as stupid manic pixie dream girls that just never eat because they're so frail and they'll only recover when they find a big, strong man who'll protect them. Then, when they "recover," they never actually gain any weight. WEIGHT GAIN IS LIKE ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS FOR RECOVERY ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? Oh my goodness, it's so frustrating.
Don't even get me started on eating disorder groups; every time I think of Twitter or Tumblr, I SHUDDER. But god, I wish there were more realistic representations and that actually show how good life is after recovery and wasn't just for some sickos that romanticise these horrible things.
