Okay, but can we talk about c*nnibalism as a metaphor for love? I find the idea of โ€‹โ€‹loving someone so much that you want to absorb them beautiful; that impulse to incorporate them into everything and make them part of you, to always have a little piece of them present.

Let me explain further: Love can be experienced as hunger: for contact, for words, for presence. Metaphorical c*nnibalism expresses this insatiable appetite for the other, for their very essence. In profound love, one allows oneself to be emotionally devoured: one surrenders, exposes oneself, allows oneself to be transformed. There is beauty in this surrender that is not afraid of losing oneself, because it trusts in the bond. Loving also implies the fear of losing, and sometimes the desire to possess so much that it becomes symbolically all-consuming. In the c*nnibal metaphor, the beloved is not only consumed: they transform the one who loves. Symbolic c*nnibalism represents this impulse to incorporate the beloved, to make them a part of you, literally.

Just as food nourishes, love nourishes and changes from within.

Have you watched the movie "Together"? it's not canibalism but it's a similar way of how you interpretate love.

though i do believe its beautiful in a sense, i find it animalistic, and selfish among all things, i barely see it being on the perspective of the one being eaten other than like beaststars and i find it hard to find cannibalism as romantic these days, it reminds me more of lust and desire if anything else

I used to think of this metaphor as a relationship goal, but living in a relationship makes you realize that this idea of โ€‹โ€‹"to absorb them beautifully" only works if you're the c*nnibal, because on the other side you realize how awful that kind of relationship is. PS: I still think that if the love is true it can work, but the idea of โ€‹โ€‹uniting to become one is kind of scary.

I think that people who commit cannibalism are just hungry, not in love, that's just my opinion.

I have limited English (and wording in general) ability to express how I view this kind of metaphor for cannibalism, but you worded it perfectly! To devour is to loveโ€”I like when a character behave like this

I really like your metaphor here, because love is almost like that for me to in my eyes. But just kind of the other way around. I want to love someone so much that I want to be consume by then, to have me in their mind and within them. They are mine and I am them, I'm there with them, literally. It's just a silly little thought of mine though.

This is so real. Most people just think it's messed up without reading too much into it, like metaphors mean nothing to some people and it's really sad because the way you explained everything was perfect and beautiful and it sucks that some people can't understand metaphors because sometimes they can be way more meaningful than taking things at face value y'know?

This post convinced me to eat my dog

Hypothesis: If you eat your dog, you are what you eat. Therefore, you must eat a second dog in order for it to constitute cannibalism. I hope you have 2.
