I HATE SMALL SCHOOLS- TW: Mention of Homophobia

I've been a student at this district for my entire life basically. and let me tell you how sucky it is.

everyone here is homophobic, and when I say everyone, I mean the majority, there are a few queer kids here, myself included that are too afraid to be themselves because they don't wanna be seen as different. I want to be myself so bad but I have a family image to hold up.

now let me tell you how many students. In the entire district. PreK-12. we have only 130 students all together. I'm related to most everyone here so I cant even seek a relationship in this small town, thankfully, I have a partner 2 cities over.  I'm moving soon to a city where there's over 70K students, the most recent year in 2023 says 76,756 students in the HIGHSCHOOL district. I'm so excited to go because I'll have a better chance at having friends who are like me. I literally get so much shit from everyone here because I don't wear 20 pounds of makeup and play sports, have a skinny figure, or I don't sleep with every boy I can get my hands on

my current school only has sports. we had band but i was too young to be in it and when i was finally old enough to be in band, the teacher retired, and the school threw all of the art/music/creative writing funds straight into sports, like football, basketball, track, and volleyball. I had an art teacher only once in primary school. but as soon as i hit 5th grade, she retired as well. 3 years later they finally hired a new teacher for the primary school, but he doesn't do art. all he does is use AI to make coloring sheets for the students and they play with Legos all the time. 

with the help of my very awesome friend who shall be left unnamed to protect hers and my personal lives and names. helped me get an arts afterschool program where students 2nd-12th (of course divided by primary, secondary, and graduate), stay an hour after school to just unwind and do art. 

I myself am a Teacher/Teachers Assistant after school hours at the primary school so that I can bring the wonderful world of art down to their level and availability. 

I'm gonna hate leaving them behind when i move but I'm glad could bring this much to them.
