I LOVE BEING ALT CHARLIE! I LOVE BEING ALT

I fucking love waking up one day and the sceen demons claim my soul. the next were fucking trad goth. Its so much fun I feel like I get to do dress up everyday for a fun event but its just my day to day. Honestly it makes my days more entertaining and fun bc I get do stuff. I could save my platform boots and leg wharmers for a special event not just my one college class but that class is boring might as well show up dressed like ive escaped a rave to have fun. Do I stick to constant subculture... no. not at all. Majority of the time its the patch pants and a band shirt but that gets considered a alt subculture to everyone around me even though I just think its a "casual" outfit for me. (seriously a good pair of worn down patch/crust pants can be the most comfortable thing to wear) I do think some of it stems from my gender fluidity, though my sense of gender is deifnetly... odd.  Idk why I feel super masc when im in a tiny skirt but like fuck it, it makes me happy. 

And once you get past the store bought hot topic level of alt fashion it becomes way easier to do and find new stuff.  Like want a pair of leg warmers cut of the sleeves of that sweater and use the body fabric for patches. Old shirt thats gota fun design on it. That big design is a jacket patch now, get some fabic paint for the rest of the matirial and you can make TOOOONNNNS of patches out of that. Bulk order spike and rip apart some black denim. you can make so much out of so little. (How far I have gotten with just fabric paint and a dream) Using paint and markers over old button pins to make new ones. Embroidery floss for a stitching look. ITS SO MUCH FUN TO MAKE MY OWN SHIT. 

Even thrifting and modifying other clothing. It dosent take that much knowledge or experience to modify clothing and I hate how mending and sewing are perceived as something thats a ridiculous skill to have. (or some people are just strait up misogynistic abt it but thats another can of worms) Why wait around for some brand to charge you out the ass for something that is only kinda what you want. When you can find something and modify it to be what you want. Add a triangle panel to the outer seam of a pair of pants and BOOM bell bottoms. Why drop 30 dollars on a hip chain at hot topic. THE HARDWARE STORE IS RIGHT THERE, get your self some chains and carabiners layer em up. get some D rings and spare fabric or ribbon and you can add so many ways to clip things on. Put some kandi beads on your shoe laces. Its so much fun to just decorate and customize literally anything. WHY DONT MORE PEOPLE DO IT!!!!! WHY IS HAVING FUN SHAMED!!!!!! BE CRINGE!!!! BE FREEE!!!!
