Today's Song: Hippy Smell  

I have been bumping this one all week. It's so good. I love God Ween Satan. I love every Ween album, but this one is up high. Hippy Smell wasn't originally included on the album, but was added to the Anniversary Edition along with Stacy and Bumblebee pt.2. 

Hippy Smell is about those people who think they were born in the wrong generation. Now I think I should admit something here, I am one of these types of people. But not for the '60s but for the '90s. I've tried not to be this way, but god do I wish I were 20 in the 90s. I am forever jealous. My parents were teens in the '90s, and it pisses me off greatly. 

WHATEVER

Hippy Smell gets compared to R.E.M. mostly because it sounds like an R.E.M. song. There is a spoken word part of the song in which Gener says:

Well, you know, I got somethin' to tell you:
You wouldn't want to be alive in the sixties!
You would've probably gotten your little hippy ass killed, or somethin', you little shitface!

I can't remember where I heard it, but Deaner said Gener's dad was a hippy in his youth, while his was the type of guy who would throw rocks at hippies. Does that have to do with anything? No, not really. 

Also, this is one of the songs I remember hearing as a kid with my dad.
