Light Novel update!

So in a previous blog, I mentioned posting a light novel and seeing if anyone wanted to adapt it into a manga. So I’m going to post the prologue, and if it does well I’ll post the rest! So if you like the story, share it with anyone who would be slightly interested!

    Write Winter For Me

                Prologue - Jordan River

A tumultuous, unrelenting storm raged on, rendering all forms of shelter meaningless. This was a storm that not a soul could ever dream of, and it only worsened as the night went on; almost as if it were a curse.

In a lonely manse was Elsim, The Witch Who Cheated Death. She was the sole head of the manse, with her husband being the sole member of her family. Much time had passed since she had started giving birth , and her ladies-in-waiting were frantically trying their hardest to deliver her child safely. Her husband, Isef, had went out in the storm to seek a doctor from the nearby village. “Lady Elsim, it’s going to be okay. Your husband will return soon enough with a doctor!” Elsim continued to struggle for hours, with Isef yet to return. No matter who it was, childbirth was an incredibly arduous process, even for a witch as exalted as she was.

As the sun began to soar and the storm began to fade, a newborn child graced the world with her presence. Elsim, with barely the strength for words, spoke out: “Darling child of mine, please, forgive your foolish mother for your birth overdue. Your father will be here soon. I swear, on my very name and soul, I will protect you as best I can, for I am your mother. As my first gift to you, I shall name you Foross-“ A lady-in-waiting had come bursting into the room. “Lady Elsim, oh how horrid! I bring news regarding Sir Isef!” Elsim’s heart sank to the coldest depths of hell, distraught by the sudden outburst. “Pray tell, humble servant, what is this about?” “Your husband, Sir Isef, has been captured by the King’s Guard of Sevens.” Elsim, overwhelmed and exhausted, could no longer hold on, and had collapsed into her now empty bed.

The servants all rushed to help her, however, the head servant Cham had noticed faint lights coming from the woods. A sudden feeling of dread had settled into her body. The King had sent men to torch down the manse. “Everyone, stay here. You are to fend off the King’s men with your life. I will not tolerate failure.” With a haste faster than lightning, Cham carried both Elsim and her newborn cWhen she awoke, her servants had all left but one, her head servant Cham. “Cham, where are the others? And where’s my husband?” Cham held nothing but a look of defeat on her face. Cham had been a servant for years, with wrinkles on her face and greyed hairs. She had grown considerably frail, and thus could hardly speak. Yet, she spoke nonetheless: “Lady Elsim, your husband had been captured last night, and was executed along with the servants of this house this morning.” Elsim’s face had twisted into the purest rage, and a shriek no devil could muster left her throat. “I, Elsim, The Witch Who Cheated Death, cast countless curses upon thee— nay, the life of that cur isn’t enough! I curse all of humanity! None of you shall ever be able to unite together again! I curse all of your filthy blood to be plagued by this curse, never to broken! All of you shall suffer, even if it costs me my life! Every soul under the sky shall fall prey to this curse! A thousand curses!” And with that, the witch really did curse them all— Including her infant daughter.
