How to get back on drawing

I haven't drawn or painted for years unless I had to do it as a school activity, any tips on how I can find motivation or inspiration to get back on drawing. I just don't feel the same way I do when I was a kid, I used to always draw and practiced to get better but now I feel like being an artist is just an unreachable dream for me.

I like to think of drawing as kind of pouring yourself out on a page. Your inspo/feelings everything! So maybe instead of trying to pour art out of an empty bowl try filling it up first! Watch some artistic movies, shows, art vlogs are great for getting motivation(i can give reccoms), read a good book, remember/revisit media that made you motivated to do art all those years ago. Nature also helps me a lot. I know how you feel because only a year ago I barely did art because of poor mental health. Now I draw every day! And I know no amount of forcing myself would have helped me back then. ( ꜆⌯' '⌯)꜆♡ Tell me how it goes for you! Good luck!

Hello, thank you for your advice I'll try to follow it. Do you have any movies you recommend? (=^-^=)

Sure thing! Personally I am a very big horror movie junkie because I find a lot of them artistically pleasing but I know they're not for everyone so I'll try reccomending something else. I see on your profile that you like Ghibli so that can work, if you're into animated movies I reccomend Paprika, It's a masterpiece and so incredibly artistic(beware of mild nudity tho). Idk if you have seen them but into/across the spiderverse are really good options (as well as anything from the older eras of dysney), Grand budapest hotel(or any Wes Anderson), Amelie.

Start slow and move up, forcing yourself back into drawing fast again will probabky ruin your self esteem even more. Make time to draw in a day or when you are free to do so, gl
