how to act like your favourite character

Do you hate your life? Does only your special interests make you feel anything?

Well FEAR NOT! i have made a cute little guide on how to successfully incorporate that into literally anything you do.

So, Ill be using Will Graham as an example. but you can use any character, obviously.

First: body language.

here are some simple concepts to help you understand what your character reacts to and how they move. as a prime example, Will nods kinda funny. Up, down, a little to the side, slowly in the beginning and then more eratically. he also moves his eyes a little bit. YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO BE A LIL BIT OF A DETECTIVE OK.

how does your character:

- walk

- nod/shake head

- react facially when they hear things that evoke a physical reaction

etc.

for me i adapt to these things automatically, unfortunately.

Second: voice

Now, before you click off, listen up for a second. I'm not talking about the pitch of their voice, so can it. That'll sound mega odd. I'm talking about the MELODY.

Now, im gonna sound insane here, but listen up. There is a little bit of a tune to peoples voices.

How does the pitch of their voice change when they're surpised? When they say a sentence, where do they put emphasis?

Let me break it down in a simple way:

When you quote things, you try to 'sound' like them - so the reference is more obvious. Think of your favourite vine. For example, the weather boy vine.

"Wouldn't YOU like to know, weather boy?"

When you read that, you 'heard' the way he said it, didnt you? a little sassy, maybe - but theres more. look at this shitty thing ive put under this sentence.

- - _ - - - _ _ _-

thats kind of the swing of what he says. and most people and characters have that too. KEEP IT IN MIND!!!

now.

bye!!

Such an ultra-specific guide, but still pretty cool.
