-"core" and lichenology

I'll never listen to any musical genre with the word "core" in it. 

As winter essentially begins, I will shift my attention to understanding lichens more.  This is a tough species group to get into, and an entirely new set of taxonomic terminology to learn. The terminology will be the biggest hurdle, but how difficult can it be compared to botany? Guess we'll see. This past work trip I took to the east coast, although my primary focus was on birds and botanical inventory, the lichenologist I was with really inspired me to get cracking on this topic!
