I have to admit it: The fact that I played around with transforming the pictures on my profile to have slight rotation isn't a tribute to the legendary "MySpace Angle".

Anyone remember this? The thing itself is still hugely popular, and was before: A profile shot of a person from a somewhat congratulatory angle, mostly from above. Famously focusing on a girls cleavage instead of her full figure, which might be full-figured.

These days photographs that hide the truth are basically an industry itself. Various mobile apps and social media sites waste uncounted computing hours and programmer jobs to showcase the sad state of what's called "Artificial Intelligence" these days, by filtering away your creases in a way that's slightly more believable than just smearing vaseline on the lens.

So did the term disappear because you'd have to explain what the "MySpace" part meant? Or because it's so omnipresent now? Or maybe even because it often went a bit too far on the misogyny/body-shaming scale?
