Not a bassist so I don't really know what I'm saying, but learn the music theory and practice your fretting hand (shouldn't be a problem if you're good at the guitar) and practice plucking if you're not planning on using a pick. just play basslines of your fav songs and thats it really, goodluck

Sure, the bass is useful for low notes, it also is not a guitar or a piano your welcome.
