I've been thinking about the connection of gender dysphoria and Jesus's crucifixion. I'm not a religious person, im atheist, but growing up i was always around Christianity, i went to church, sunday school, and a Catholic school, so i know my fair share of christian values and bible teachings. But as a trans guy, I also love to associate what i learned to my personal life and experiences.
Gender dysphoria is a deep feeling, for some it's anger, for some its sadness and depression, for some it's just a feeling that will pass as they transition.
Jesus being crucified represents all these feelings, while he is angry and disappointed, he knows he is doing it for everyone's well-being. He dies for the people's sins, he knows all his suffering will pass as he will rise to the kingdom of heaven as he resurrects.
On the cross he is vulnerable, exposed, naked, hurt, stuck, he is humiliated by everyone else who doesn't believe his nature, he is punished by suffering. But he knows he will rise.
He is Man. Spiritually, mentally and physically, he is Man, son of God. But the Jews and Romans don't see him as man, as a prisoner they see him as an anomaly, monster. They bash and let him bleed for being his true.
He has to carry it, falling to its daunting weight but nevertheless getting back up, as he knows he has a task to fulfill, and hope to save humanity.
He is stuck to the cross, the crown of thorns is lacerating his head, the nails are pinning his already weak body. He can't fight it off, so he embraces it. All the pain will pass and he will rise.
If you think about it with the metaphor for gender dysphoria in mind, it's a great example and perception of the feeling.
Or i might just be tripping
