I’m not human. /srs.

No, i’m not delusional. Yes, i do normal human stuff. No, i don’t “like” animals. 

First, let me start by saying that i do know that physically, i would count as a human biologically and chemically n stuff like that. That’s a fact, sure, and if that makes you see me as a human, thats fine. You may call me a human, see me as one, and treat me as one. Actually, PLEASE treat me like a human!

But since some people are probably confused, let me start with some simple definitions.

Alterhuman: An alterhuman is someone who, in any way, has an identity that isn’t fully or typically human.

Otherkin: someone who involuntarily identifies as something other than human in any way, usually a non-human creature, real or not. This creature (or concept, object ect.) would be your kintype.

Therian: someone who involuntarily identifies as a non-human animal in any way, usually a real earthen animal. This animal would be your theriotype.

Fictionkin: a type of otherkin where you identify as a fictional character.

Shift: switching to a more identity-like state, e.g. wolf-like if you’re a wolf therian, for example mentally. Another example woulf be phantom shifts, where you feel appendages or limbs of your identity (kintype, theriotype..) on your body even though theyre not there.

Awakening: realising you’re an alterhuman

Transspecies: Identifying as a non-human species, usually involuntarily, and usually wholly. The difference between this and therian or otherkin are slim, and its everyones own choice as to what words they use to describe themselves.

These are just the most well known Alterhuman terms, there are many more.

Also, these identities can be very different, and one can identify as something in different ways, such as psychological, spiritual, metaphorical, physical… and more!

Incase you’re wondering what a physical alterhuman identity would be, here’s an example;

“I know i’m technically physically human, but i identify as a wolf, and since my identity is me, i am a wolf. And since this is my body and i am a wolf, this is the body of a wolf. Meaning that this is just another way a wolf can look like, just another wolves body. Meaning i am physically a wolf.”

…and i feel that way with multiple kintypes and theriotypes. 

I am a dog. I am a Wolf. I am a guardian angel. I am an Isopod. I am Time.

And yes, i still feel partially human, but i am not human. It’s such a small part of me that it barely defines me. 

I am not human. I do everyday things knowing im not human. I get shifts and urges and i love this life.

I like my “human” life, and i wouldn’t trade it. I like doing stuff that humans do, having a phone or cooking curry, and this human life is also a dogs life, a guardian angels life. And i know most won’t accept me, or will think im crazy, but i’m happy, and so i wanted to share this. To maybe inspire you to be yourself, i dunno.
