I understand that religious trauma exists—I’m absolutely not neglecting its existence but for some, such as myself, religion is a source of comfort. I never once thought that the thing that provides me with comfort will become such a controversial topic.
Surely, religion can be dogmatic but it purely depends on how the worshipper practices it and presents it to others (though, it doesn’t have to be presentable, it’s personal). I understand that this depends on how you were raised with a certain religion.
But I wouldn’t call myself a believer if I didn’t know what I was believing in.

Yea, i find so much comfort in God, and i pray constantly and i feel bad for some people that have had bad experiences with the church because then it seems they just would rather nothing to do with religion
But my thing is theres always going to be a bad experience some way or another because the world is just a place
bad places** its midnight for me and im pretty tired, so my bad if what i said doesnt make sense

Bad experiences will always happen, it’s our responsibility to heal, which is a different process for everyone. I suppose, I’m glad to find someone else who sees God as comforting.
