Most social media doesn't appeal to me. It is a constant stream of negativity, people and things I don't care about. The people I do care about, however, are buried by piles of "for yous" and "you might likes". I'm constantly learning things I don't want to learn about against my will..
I deleted Instagram today, still on my laptop, but it's less appealing that way. I ordered an iPod (green) 2nd gen, that I'm gonna learn how to download music onto- that and I really need to start bringing my tape player with me. I need more ambient music in tape or cd form. I've been listening to Desert Sand is Warm at Night, ever since I got the tape. I bring around a digital camera now, one I got at a thrift shop a few weeks ago, it needed a new battery but was fine otherwise. I've picked up reading again, right now I'm reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson. His writing style is incredibly unique and keeps my attention. The movie, which I've seen countless times, is also amazing. So far, the movie adaptation is dead-on to the book. Since I moved for college, there's a little queer-owned bookstore that I need to go back to. They've got a hardcover copy of Fear and Loathing that I want. Now that I think about it, I believe I own a physical copy of The Secret History. I have no clue where that is right now. Anyways;
I stopped taking my phone to the bathroom, gross, I know. It's a common thing I guess but I'd rather not do it, I don't have any use for it in there. When you're off your phone more often, you begin to notice how much other people use theirs'. When hanging out I'll feel awkward because it'll get quiet and suddenly I'm the only person without a phone out. I started working with DoorDash when I've got the time, I think I'm gonna do that tomorrow before my girlfriend comes over. (I'm home for the weekend) With that money I'm also to get useful stuff obviously- gas and groceries, etc. But I'd also like to save up to get a nicer keyboard. Right now I'm eyeing this one , the greyscale one particularly. Also, I bought a thesaurus, moreso just for fun. I feel like I have more time to do stuff now, like schoolwork, yeah- But also just more time to myself, to think, to write, to draw, etc. Obviously I'm still keeping in contact with people via text and stuff. I'm not trying to live like its Ancient Rome or something.
