Please Don't lose your spark
Recently i told my parents that i would really enjoy going to therapy, and actually, i have been enjoying it A LOT!! I believe a lot of people are scared to go because they will feel vulnerable or that therapy is just for "crazy people" (which is totally wrong btw), but again i understand why someone might say or think that if they go they are going to be seen as weak or ill and no one wants to give of that impression.
As humans we like to appear "put together" we want others to believe that everything is fine, that I am strong and don't need help, but we need to learn that as a society that it's not wrong to ask for help or offer help. emotional problems often come with individualism, why? because when you say to yourself, "I can do this alone, I don't want to be a burden" it's because we feel like if I reach out for help, I am going to be someone else's concern and it's better to do it alone, so I don't harm or make someone uncomfortable, and that's why I struggle alone "why would anyone want to struggle for me?"
This exact mindset makes us an individualist society making others feel bad for having problems or making others think that no one else matters only themselves; So, if you are someone who is struggling with mental health and thinks that no one understands them you can reach out and tell me, because I don't want to be part of a society that doesn't value others and I don't want to become someone that thinks that no one matters, if you have a friend you haven't seen in a while reach out to them, if you have a quiet classmate that always seats alone, if a family member lost its spark, try and reach out to them, let them know that you care and if you are one of this people don't hesitate to reach out.
Lots of love Isa
