1.)MADONNA IN A FUR COAT by SABAHATTIN ALI (1943)
synopsis-A shy young man leaves his home in rural Turkey to learn a trade in 1920s Berlin. The city's crowded streets, thriving arts scene, passionate politics and seedy cabarets provide the backdrop for a chance meeting with a woman, which will haunt him for the rest of his life.

tiktok has once again influenced me by bombarding my feed with book recommendations… though i despise these kinds of tiktok videos (from personal experiences), i genuinely trust them with ‘madonna in a fur coat’. if this book is literally the definition of yearning that they make it out to be? then it might be a favorite.
2.)THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by STEPHEN CHBOSKY (1999)
synopsis-Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

yes i know everyone and their mom has either read or watched this!!! yes i am missing out, but at this point i really don’t care. the reason i plan on ONLY reading the book is due to the fact that i am very emotionally weak when it comes to movies that could hit a little too close to home… allow me to pretend that reading the book would be any different. i’m also convinced that i’ll be a changed person once i do read this.
