Had a bad cramps today since I got my period this month, and since I'm currently in portion control of my weight, I made Chawanmushi - japanese savory custardy steamed egg.
Note: I'm a muslim and I didn't use alcohol in my recipe, usually I made replacements instead.
Ingredients:
- Six eggs, beaten and make it through sieve to make it a bit more silky texture
- Two tablespoons of soy sauce
- 180-200ml Dashi stock or anchovies stock
- Optional filling: I used imitation crab and shiitake mushrooms, all sliced
Process:
- Beat all the eggs, let them through the sieve and then put them in a bowl
- Add in two tablespoons of soy sauce
- Melt or put in the stock
- This is optional: either you want to put in a separate cup or dig in a bowl for your eggs mixture
- Once that's done, put in your filling
- Heat up your stove to medium heat to steam them for around 10-13 minutes
- Voila, it's done! It might not look clean but its actually very delicious.
