i have been thinking about it for a while since i have consumed something relating to it. i am aware of how it will affect me. but i am curious since people tend to find it pleasurable. i have already tried things that are not good for me so i see this being no different. maybe i will feel as good as they do.
thinking about smoking.

So I've never smoked myself, but I come from a family of chain smokers. I wouldn't start smoking now. There are tons of issues that can come from it:
1. The health issues: Smoking/vaping/tobacco use in general can increase a whole metric of health problems including COPD, cancer, blood clots, and premature aging, among so many others. Part of what caused my grandmother's death a few years ago was her excessive smoking.
2. Addiction: Addiction to anything is no joke. Once you become hooked on something, it is super hard to get off of something. My parents are former smokers, and both of them have said that quitting smoking was one of the hardest things they ever did[and my dad served in the military. That just proves how difficult quitting is.]
3. Cost: I don't know where you're based, but in the US, tobacco products are insanely expensive, and the cost is rising. The cost of a single carton is on average $8.00! Tobacco products are consumable, so you would need to keep buying them constantly, and that adds up. In fairness this is from a US perspective, so prices may differ where you live, but it still does add up over time.
4. The Smell: Tobacco products stink! And that smell doesn't come out easily. My grandmother[the same one who died] left me all of her jewelry and the boxes she stored them in, and let me tell you, one of the boxes smelled like the stalest cigarettes you can imagine! The smell lingered for about 2 years before it began to fade. In fairness I have a super sensitive nose, but still.
With all of this being said, I, and nobody, can stop you. If you still wish to take the risk I would at least be educated and try other things first before smoking. But if you still feel the desire I can't stop you.
If you're talking about smoking weed the arguments still apply, but it technically isn't as bad for your health. Cost wise it's still pretty expensive.

I'm not sure my words will hold much sway but do it away from others if you do smoke please

I've never smoked in general, but I know some people who do and I personally wouldn't recommend it. It's easy to get addicted and it's generally bad for your health: I'm telling you even though you probably know this already. Also, not smoking for a certain amount of time can cause stress if you get addicted. If you feel like you need a way to relax, try taking a warm bath/shower, have a nap or engage in a calming activity/hobby (e.g. drawing or going for a walk: these help me a lot :D).

As a 6-year smoker, I enjoy smoking and don't plan on quitting. It helps me feel better when I'm thinking about something, when I'm upset, and when I have nothing else to do. It also works well when I'm listening to music. But this is just my experience. If you care about your health, I don't recommend smoking.

honestly I wouldn't recommend it at all. Like other inhalable drugs, it causes issues with your lungs. There is high risk of cancer associated with cigarettes. Some other irritating things that have driven me away from wanting to do it: it makes your mouth taste really gross, and the smell can stick on things for awhile. If anyone in your family has addictions, you are more likely to be addicted to substances, so smoking could become a quick addiction. It costs a lot. Especially if you get to the point of chain-smoking, I know this from my mother.

Tbh I don't think u should start smoking - coming from some1 that smokes cigs and vape - bcs it's very addicting and is very hard to quit it, due to it being an addiction, plus it's bad for your health. But if u do start smoking, please do it carefully. 𐔌՞. .՞𐦯

definitely wouldn't recommend, getting addicted is easy and quitting is hard. Also an expensive habit after awhile, but do wtv you want. if you wanna try and just smoke once in awhile try to stick to only smoking while drinking.

People only find smoking "pleasurable" because they're addicted to nicotine. From a practical perspective, it's not worth getting into at all and if you're struggling with stuff, don't go to substance abuse because then you'll just be addicted to nicotine while still struggling with everything.
Also people who smoke tend to be very obnoxious and inconsiderate with where they do it. I don't want second-hand smoke lung from taking a walk in the park!!!
Try CBT or a counselor or a support group or a friend. All of those options are far better than a cigarette, and those who tell you otherwise tend to be rationalizing their own nicotine addiction in their mind, as opposed to looking out for you.

Its not at bad and harmful as everyone says lol, i recommend you to find a better way to feel better abt anything youre going thru but if you wanna do it hell yeah do it, just make sure to have good habits, have a good sleep schedule and brush your teeths regurlaly. If you do that smoking would be like taking a cup of coffee

i can’t really control what you do or don’t do, but i would advise not smoking until or unless you are a legal adult. i started smoking at 18 and i only smoke marijuana, as i deem it less harmful (compared to cigarettes) and i have read many articles about the benefits of consuming marijuana. make sure whatever you do however is within your country/state/province laws.

i smoked ciggarettes a few time and did not understand smokers at all! i felt no effect and they tasted bad! same with vapes (they where surprisingly even worse in term of smell) not to mention how everyone will suddenly become a fucking doctor and you will stink all the time so wouldn't recommend!
