i have a few old laptops and one of them is the thinkpad T410, which has a disc drive that wasn't working with windows 10 and it's an old computer that was running super slow with windows. seeing as it won't be able to upgrade to windows 11 and that i wouldn't want to do that in the first place, i installed linux mint on it, hopeful that a lighter operating system, might get some other systems/hardware working.
i haven't gotten it to work for now, and the CDs i've tried to play on it haven't worked, but i'll try and see if i can tinker with it and get it to work, as i was really hoping to revive it, so that i could use it to burn playlists onto some CDs but for now it doesn't work.
at least the computer runs much smoother now which is fun, i really enjoy that you can revive an old computer with linux and it's a fun hobby, even if i'm still a relative beginner at using it in regards to terminal commands and understanding all the terms.
