Ive been debating recently on what to call this, but ive been seeing alot of people drop social media to actually live in the real world. Recently, I've been cutting back on social media usage, i deleted tiktok and only keep insta and facebook for family. My mental health has been significantly better, i still struggle but not as intense. I have noticed however, people irl who still use reels +Β tiktok CANNOT carry a conversation worth a damn. I will talk to someone my age about their day or what I have been up too, and I swear their eyes drift and they cannot carry a conversation. The brainrot is real!!!
But, i've noticed OTHER people my age who dont use tiktok or reels and just spacehey or facebook, they can actually carry a conversation, I can get a coherent conversation going with them and actually learn something or, get a good memory with them

I haven't really paid attention to the difference, but it's not like I interact a lot with my peers anyway... I did hear a little kid say "six sevennn" over and over again when I was at work which was pretty cringe
Lol what is six seven? Ive heard it too

2020 fucked all of us lowkey, so yeah in a way real life is escapism from social media. People got tired of texting and sending gifs of random shit to eachother 24/7, and instead wanted to talk to people in person.
which is so interesting, because from I think 2005-2019 social media was an escape from real life, now we're all trying to escape from social media xd

Yea, I mean... when the internet is full of negativity and bad news from around the globe - your real life circumstances don't seem that bad in comparison. Who the hell wants to be fed with doomslob 24/7 everytime you try to escape into the virtual world? No one, which is prob why everyone and their mother is hanging out more irl.
