It's really not just tahat everything is the same. It's the consolidation that's primarily at fault here, as big black rectangle happens to be closest to optimal for doing ""everything"" at around pocket sized. That said if one was to cut down on the features or evn time spent on phone so that trado-offs being taken are less of an issue, for instance by using a separate camera or e-reader, if you do a lot of text stuff or whatever, you'd end up with stuff tat looks cooler, because it suddenly can again. No excuses for us no longer having slide-out keyboards. We still text a lot and they can work soooo well.

i want to feel like upgrading phones is worth it and has so many changes, its all specs and boring designs. we need new phone looks and add more skeumorphism
