Why tf am I so unlucky when playing Ace Attorney?

I love Ace Attorney, I bought the trilogy last year and every time I try to play it glitches, every time I tried to play it glitches somehow or the touchpad stops working. At first I assumed it was the laptop's problem, as I don't have my own, I used to have one given by school but it had to be returned when I finished middle school, and for a school computer it was actually good the only problem was the touchpad that was too sensitive. This year I haven't received a computer yet, but this morning I remembered "Wait, my dad has a laptop I can download in his." so I tried, it took an hour to download and nothing weird happened, but the moment the game loaded, after a few minutes of playing, his laptop shut down. I tried again, played a few more minutes, and the second time it shut down again. This time, it didn't turn on, I had to wait the whole afternoon for the laptop to start working again...

Idk what this game has against me, what did I ever do? 💔
