Verse 1
Where the Mohawk Trail winds west through the trees,
And Shelburne Road hums with a soft autumn breeze,
There's a quiet stretch of meadow and pine,
Kept for the wild, by love and design.
Chorus
Here's to the land between the roads,
Where kindness planted what progress mowed,
Gauley, Young, and the Eastons too,
Gave back the green that once they knew.
Verse 2
Three parcels bound by an old stone wall,
Gift of the heart, a gift to all,
No plow or chain shall cross that ground,
Where fox and thrush and stream are found.
Chorus
Here's to the land between the roads,
Where kindness planted what progress mowed,
Gauley, Young, and the Eastons too,
Gave back the green that once they knew.
Bridge
Let the children walk the shaded trails,
Let the seasons turn their tales,
A promise kept beneath the sun,
That what was lost may yet live on.
Final Chorus
Here's to the land between the roads,
A dream preserved, a debt we owed,
Greenfield's heart beats soft and true,
In the forest light, forever new.
