Posers are sadly THAT common and bad..

This is a rant. Very stupid but it pissed me off SO SO much when it happened to me.. 

So. After trying and failing to find mutuals who like bands I enjoy, I went to the place of doom and despair: Discord </3. I joined a server that looked 'authentic' enough, specifically for anyone who likes metal. They didn't specify what genre so I joined and immediately made an introduction. I introduced myself, my hobbies and ofc what metal bands I like. After a while I got a DM request: a person saying they also like metal (ye no shit, we share one common server and it's THAT one) but trying to be nice, I asked for their top bands.. and I was met with the holy combo of mainstream: Korn, Slipknot and whatever other bullshit they texted me. No offense to anyone who likes them, I have very close friends who also enjoy these bands, but at least they don't PRETEND to like them. "WELL!! How do you know they were pretending?" - dodging questions about their favorite song of each, and taking a long time to respond was already suspicious enough lol BUT ofc they had to beat me to it. After being asked what bands I like, I mentioned a BUNCH of bands. Mainly those already on my profile here.. and of course I was met with a 'oh yes!! I love them too.' No tf u don't. Get out of my town. I don't get why people pretend to enjoy metal to find friends, when metalheads aren't the nicest to befriend lol (speaking of myself) but oh well. Pls stick to your own stuff. Listen to Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande all you want BUT PLEASEEE don't pretend to like stuff you have 0 knowledge about.
