a major problem on spacehey // TW

I'd like to preface this by saying comments WILL be on but be respectful and considerate. TRIGGER WARNING FOR gore.

I'm sure MANY people are familiar with this topic since it may be common to come by— unfortunately.

users with cute, innocent-seeming names and profile pictures are spreading around spacehey. don't be fooled by the appearance. these accounts could be filled with gore photos. I've had my first encounter tonight.

The Pattern of These Accounts (how to more easily avoid them)

I have been informed they mostly have roblox profile pictures, a platform known for being a kids game. this is true, from what I've just seen. the profile picture was art of a cute roblox character.

I also have heard that they may have cute layouts before, and shortly after friending a lot of people, they'll change it to gore, then friend more people.

Commentary

you may be thinking that it could be obvious. it isn't for people who genuinely like roblox and want to see a seemingly cute account that they could be friends with. especially because these people blend in with a lot of other spacehey users.

even clicking away after 5 seconds could make someone, to put it mildly, disturbed. it makes it hard to know who to trust from just a profile picture and name alone. it makes it hard to figure out who is a geniune, loving, person— or someone who just wants to get some unsuspecting minors traumatized. not to say that adults can also experience this, but again, roblox is filled to the brim with minors, thus this is more common for minors to experience. me being one of them.

it's sickening, yes, sickening that spacehey can't catch these accounts sooner. I know it's hard to catch them right away. but it's gut wrenching to see people get hurt by these accounts. it frankly has hurt me too, as someone who has seen gore more than once due to being on the sick internet.

yes, I shouldn't have been on the internet; but do you think kids know any better? especially if they're not supervised and live in a neglectful household. they may also see these accounts and become addicted to gore, then get in very dangerous spaces. see the birdie drama. see the dice cult drama. prime examples of kids being in super dangerous parts of the internet.

I am a minor, I think I can speak for a good sum of us when I say that we don't want to be paranoid while looking for cool people on here. although it's only(?) roblox from what I've seen, tomorrow it could be different. this is why we NEED to have better moderation other than trying to avoid a specific type of profile picture. it could be hard to moderate stuff like this, I dont know; but this is actually horrible and it needs to be managed.
