It serves no purpose other than to suck my dopamine things away, but at the same time all my favourite artists or authors or friends are on there. I am stuck between the two. What the fuck do I do.
Should I delete my Instagram account?

delete it off of your phone, get your friends number, and only use it on a laptop . if you dont have a laptop, only use it on your browser.
I assume the reason why you wanted to me to use Instagram only on a browser is similar to the reason why SpaceHey is usually used on a browser too...unless I'm getting something wrong?

It makes it more tedious and less accessible so it will make you less likely to want to go and use it. Using insta on a browser sucks but it's doable which is great for if you don't want to be on it much

I'd simply abandon it. The only reason I wouldn't delete it is because like you pointed out, it's the only way to access a lot of people, especially since they're insistent on only using, posting on, and messaging through Instagram.
I suppose that could work, yes. Maybe I could direct said people (like my friends) to contact me on other apps instead?

That's what I'd do. It's what I should've done when I ditched Facebook almost ten years ago, but I was in too much of a rush to do so and I still don't want to go back to my old account.
