A great tip on how to open more eyes to creativity

Now I am talking about creating. Creating text, art, graphic design, etc.

Doomscrolling nowadays media (like tiktok) really makes our attention span and creativity melt.

I recommend to EVERYONE, to write and/or create every. single. day. Now it sounds like homework, but it must not be so. It only should keep your hands and brain gripped on creating.

Now. You might think that "I dont have time to create everyday??" yes you do.

Drawing doesnt always need to be a masterpiece. Writing doesnt always need to be a book.

What I am saying is, do something small each day. One teacher taught us to everyday, ask someone to say a random word. Lets say it is "cat". Now, you will in 15 seconds draw a cat. No erasing, no retrying. Draw your vision of a cat in 15 seconds without thinking much about it. You might find drawing a cat easy, but once you get used to this pattern, request harder words. Like let´s say "regret". How do you draw regret in 15 seconds.

And the reason you ask someone else to tell you a word, is that in your own head you will start to go through all the words like "noo that ones boring".

Now the important part, KEEP THE DRAWINGS. In a notebook, folder, anything.
Same words can be used a few times. If your friend says "cat" again, you will draw it and compare. Compare how you drew a cat today and last week.

If you wish to write everyday. Each evening before going to bed, write atleast one sentence about today. It can be anything, and the length of the text can be as much as you wish. For example: "I walked into a wall, it hurt.", "I ate cupcakes with a friend and i enjoyed it alot". Even if you didnt do anything more than stay at home, write it! You can also just sit outside, and write what you see, what you feel or hear. "I am sat on the grass. A crow is cawing in the distance."

And the most important thing about this is WRITING ON A PAPER. NOT YOUR PHONE. This will tie your brain into the thing forreal. In the phone you do nothing with the text, because youre just doing the same everyday motion we are so used to on quick messaging etc.
"What does this help?", you will remember more. If someone asks you on tuesday what you did on monday, you pause and really have to rewind like "hmm... what DID I do..."
If you wrote a simple or bigger text about monday, you remember it. Also, the more you write about your surroundings, the smaller things you will pay attention to. You will have more material to use in your poems, novels, anything.

If you really wish to find or add some other option than the ones I listed, I got you.

Look around.

Look at art you see, look at advertisement, commercials, posters, nature, building, anything.

This will feed your brain more useful media to add to your creations, and various things to get inspired from without even noticing.

Especially in graphic designing, looking at commercials and informative posters will help you create better and more various type of things.

I hope this inspired somebody, because I really like sharing my life lessons and stuff. :)

I can open these topics even more, especially about the writing part, if somebody is interested. I like to write, and I do it alot. I also keep a journal every now and then.

Have fun creating!
