Metal Sonic is a wasted villain

Has anyone else ever thought about how cool Neo Metal Sonic is?!?! His design is amazing and the concept of him becoming conscious and rebelling against Eggman was AMAZING! i still wonder why sega doesnt make reference to it anymore, it would be so cool to see Neo back on future games, what do y'all think?
