I still think we're very much in love with the fairy tail happy ending. Even if we deny it, we all wish to find love, a house, get a dog and settle down with as little worries as possible. However the miserable truth, is this does not happen unless you're privileged in some way. And even if you do find your "Happily ever after" it is drowned out by your husband banging that 20 something year old, or your wife pleasing the yoga instructor a bit too much.
We have all been set up to fail. We have all been programmed to want something we can never have, and if we have it it is doomed from the beginning. The closest may or may not get is star crossed. To meet the man/ woman of our dreams and realise we're still stuck in the relationship which brings us no job, but the one we feel we deserve. To have it so close, but knowing you're so far. To find that special someone but feel as if you do not know how to love them. Or love in general.
Having ourselves stuck in an unhealthy cycle of thinking we know what we want, deserve, desire but actually having no idea whatsoever. Those programmed thoughts we contemplate in bed, whilst our life's twist and turn down the shitter. Perhaps we do not know what love is. Perhaps we are undeserving of something we do not understand, take for granted, and destroy when we find.
