I got too much leftovers from grandma and cooking, so I ended something that I'd like to call: trash casserole because idk what else to name it and idk what it calls properly in the west.
Ingredients:
- leftover carbs like rice or pasta
- leftover protein like chicken, beef, fish, prawn
- Mushrooms, how much you want and finely chopped
- Half a white onion, diced
- Four to five garlics, finely diced
- Cooking cream/half and half/whatever you use to add cream onto the broth
- Whatever spices you have, I used white pepper, oregano, and chili flakes to make it spicy
- A cup of water, just to drown all the ingredients in but not too much or else it gets watery
- A dollop of butter
- Optional: cheese for extra melt in the oven
Cooking:
- melt the butter first until it lets out a smell
- Saute the onions and garlics until it became translucent and the smell came out
- Put in the mushroom, saute them until they're cooked
- Put in the leftover proteins and then cook em
- Add in the water, enough to drown them all
- Once they're boiling and bubbling, add in your carbs until they're softened or cooked or melted
- Add in your spices, adjust em to your taste
- Once done, put em in the casserole tray and add in the optional cheese to make the crispy top for 20-30 minutes
- And then you're done
Enjoy the random recipe I made, it's 8/10 cuz I ate it for breakfast and I accidentally made it too watery lol
