I think y'all might have seen those yt vids or reels where someone shares their daily routine but for whatever reason It's just them using 100+ products on their face and body, which in reality, is very harmful. These folks are normalizing something that shouldn't be normalized or bought up in the first place. The sad fact is that ppl, especially teens are getting brainwashed by it, because of the so-called aesthetic appealing. They think over-consumption is glamorous and rich when in reality It's harmful for them and causes harm to the economy. Like It's okay to use just 2-3 products on ur skin, that's more helpful. Our skin cannot handle too many products, It's literally harmful to our skin and causes skin deaseses. Why's so many abnormal things are being normalized these days like tf-
Over-consumption is not aesthetic, It's ASS.

I hate overconsumption, what I usually do to help is if I see something in store thats a new product, I will take a pic of it and search for a used version of it online (or an unopened box) that way I'm not supporting these horrible mass production companies
aisha !!
omg i've been saying this for the longest time. whether its clothes, skincare, or even just being a "collector" of things that are mass produced, IT IS STILL OVERCOMSUMPTION AT ITS CORE. in what world are these influencers finishing their 50 bottles of perfume?! i absolutely hate seeing "hauls" on tiktok because its usually just influencers buying clothes/skincare just to use it once and donate it to goodwill because they think it'll solve the problem. the truth is a lot of donated items still end up in landfills and just causes more pollution. its sad that it doesnt apply to JUST influencers. i have tons of irl friends that have the same overconsumption habits
