i finally finished fran bow. here's my thoughts

after almost 2 months?? i think?? of procrastination, i finally finished fran bow and id like to share a few thoughts.

i cant say fran bow is a masterpiece, however, in the opinion of a person who doesnt rlly have many opinions in general and who usually likes absolutely any media, including video games and ESPECIALLY indie games, i enjoyed playing it and found it interesting!

the characters are unique and i simply fell in love with palontras!! the gameplay style (point&click), art, and animations i liked enormously, and i can say they made me fall in love all over again bc they reminded me of the aesthetic of another beloved game: sally face, which is a masterpiece, hands down.

now... unlike sally face, the actual game, fran bow, i cant say it kept me "hooked", yk what i mean? as in, the story thread stagnated many times, and just when you were about to advance the plot, you had to do some other puzzles or end the chapter or things like that. thats why i think it made me procrastinate so much, bc i noticed that only in the last chapter (c5) did i start to become much more interested in the lore and it made me want more; for the rest, it was puzzles, puzzles, puzzles, which i like!!!!! dont get me wrong!!! buuuut SOME puzzles were so hard that i spent hours trying to figure out what to do until i eventually gave up and looked up the solution on youtube and ended up feeling stupid and blind. like ok srry my bad chat that i didnt see in c5 that i could cut the button from a dress in frans closet and use it as a coin in a stupid machine.

and the ending kinda left me on a cliffhanger. like, i still havent understood whats going on with fran, who actually killed her parents, and whether those fantastic characters are real or not. im totally confused. i plan to watch more vids on yt about it to clarify things for myself, so ill write my thoughts again.

after i finished the game, i also started to get 100% of the achievements on steam, which stressed me out a bit bc in some chapters i had to start completely from scratch and do the smallest thing to get an achievement (like how i had to use a pack of matches instead of a knife to cut the rope in chapter 2 part 2). FUCK my stupid baka life. anyway, in the end, i managed to get 100%, so im happy. :D

from what ive seen, there will be a collab game between little misfortune and fran bow and im genuinely hooked. cant wait to play that bitch brah.
