My Favorite Websites (updated 10/2025)

Games

Random Garfield Generator: allows you to create your own absurd Garfield comic strips using randomized panels

JSPaint: a free version of Microsoft Paint that you can use in your browser

OpenGuessr: a free version of Geoguessr

Wiki Race & Wiki Game Daily: the classic wiki game is made multiplayer, and has even been made into a daily game like Wordle

Six Degrees of Wikipedia: a website that reveals the fastest Wiki Game routes so you can check your work

Free Online Sudoku: just regular sudoku (also mahjong, spider, and solitaire), but there's no random ads or pop-ups like other websites

Cookie Clicker: a classic browser-based idle game that I've been playing on-and-off since I was little

Streaming

Folkstreams: a free streaming platform for American folk culture-related documentaries and footage

Toonami Aftermath: watch vintage cartoons live in your browser, and chat with other users also watching

Tubi: a free streaming service with everything from foreign art films to the worst trash you have ever laid eyes upon

r/Piracy Megathread: the best place to find movies to stream and download, as well as a place that explains how to do it safely (when it comes to that...)

Internet Archive: a classic, there are a lot of strange films on here that you can watch for free in your browser

Reading

The Anarchist Library: an online archive of anarchist texts being translated and made available by a small group of volunteers

UbuWeb: an archive of avant-garde art that has been maintained since 1996

Better World Books: an alternative marketplace to Amazon for used books that donates books whenever you order

Bookshop.org: purchase a book online, but direct the funds towards a participating local indie bookstore

Ana's Archive: if you're doing research and you need a book or an article that you can't find ANYWHERE, it's probably on here

Music

Rate Your Music: an old-fashioned social media site focused on discovering new music, reviewing and rating music, and cataloguing your collection

Last.FM: everyone probably knows about this one already, but this site tracks your music streaming to give you stats, recommendations, and suggested concerts

Radio Garden: a website where you can listen to radio stations from around the world

Music Map: a useful website for discovering artists that are similar to one that you already like

Images

EzGIF
: a website where you can easily make gifs from videos, resize, rotate, crop, optimize, add effects and text to your gifs without any annoying pop-ups or downloads

MOMG (Museum of Modern GIFs): an "art gallery" of vintage GIFs from around the internet displayed in little picture frames and with ambient museum background sounds

Backgrounds Archive: an archive of vintage computer wallpapers from the 90s and 2000s

The Frutiger Aero Archive: an archive of frutiger aero computer wallpapers, music videos, and more

Other Distractions

Wayback Machine: obviously I love this one because it's so fun to look at random websites. I was recently down a rabbit hole looking at old versions of my school and university websites

Make My Drive Fun: populates a map based on two locations you entered with entries from Atlas Obscura on your route

Backloggd: a website where you can catalogue and rate your video game collection

Neocities: obviously an awesome site, you can look here to find really cool personal websites and more

Spacehey: the website you're using right now!

Rate your music so peak. It’s great to see a website that makes discovering new music so easy without the need for damn algorithms, just user generated lists and profiles and a friendly interface, you end up finding new stuff by clicking around and being curious and the whole process feels a lot more involved in a fun way, like you are actually discovering music not getting recommendations shoved in your face.
It’s got a fair share of annoying people but I guess that's a side effect of having a variety of opinions, which is cool. This list is cool, also, def bookmarking a few of these ¡Great stuff!
