Is it just me, or has life gone onto 2x speed? Everywhere you look, there's an instant pressure to rush--into relationships, adulthood, moulding into someone you're just not quite ready to be. Haven't you noticed? Ever since COVD-19, social media has been portraying this highlight reel of “perfect” lives, where love is instant, beauty is filtered, and even young children are expected to act grown before they've had the chance to just be kids.
Intimacy has become glamourised, seen as a "hobby" rather than the beautiful connection between two souls, and harmful trends in cosmetics and body weight that have society pushing these scary unhealthy beauty standards for both males and females, that have the younger generations chasing maturity, and normalising bullying without understanding the weight of their actions. Meanwhile, we've shortened our language, skipping full sentences like a rock skidding on water for emojis, slang and acronyms--like we as a society are "too busy" to feel or think..
Maybe, it's time to slow down. To BREATHE. Speak clearly, speak your mind (with kindness of course). Grow at your own pace. There's no race here, and the moments we rush through are often the ones we’ll wish we could get back. Let’s stop speeding toward some imagined version of “done”--and start living, thoughtfully, in the now :D

realll. i hate how everything in the world sucks now, but trapping oneself in nostalgia can be unhealthy,, i have my own mindset on that written in my own blog :>
that's so true, but I feel like nostalgia is so beautiful, because you're yearning for your own memories which proves that you've lived a life worth living :D

I've noticed that too, since the lockdown life has just felt like: Fast,fast, fast, come one you have to be faster, faster and faster. Faster than anyone else
To win some kind of race we are all participating withouth us knowing. Younger generations are trying to be older or look older and older are reaching for that nostalgia they felt when they were younger (i am part of those).
I wish we all just took our time to explore ourself and not just multitask everything.
Righttt!!! I just feel like after being in lockdown we've decided that everything needs to be rushed... And I can't sit here and say I wasn't one of those kids who wanted to grow older, because I was introduced to all these adult things at such a young age (kudos to unrestricted internet access LOL), but it just sucks now seeing all these young kids, especially young GIRLS being forced into this narrative that they should be grown, doing makeup, wearing revealing clothing and etc just to fit into society...

FR FR, like there was this controversy about kids being at sephora and using all those expensive skincare products and i was so shocked.
Also when i see young girls wearing revealing clothing. At that age, girls around me were wearing like, cartoon tshirts, shorts, skirts y'know actual kid clothes, but now everything is crop tops or tank tops or super tight clothes or even desinger bags. Makes no sense since a kid is supposed to get dirty while playing and don't care too much about clothes

oh my GODDDDD don't get me STARTED on the girls wearing revealing clothes... Like, you're TWELVE, go back to playing club penguin and animal jam 3 stop being so worried about wearing clothes that are meant to be for adults. It's like so heart-breaking to see especially when they're sexualising themself online as well :(
