Relationships..why?

Boyfriends? Girlfriends? Relationships? What???

So recently my friend broke up with his boyfriend (weird guy, never liked him) and it got me thinking about what boyfriends are even about?

I get that people have boyfriend/girlfriends because they feel attracted to the person and obviously humans are very social organisms who don't want to be alone for the rest of their lives but I just find it interesting that people my age find it important to have a partner.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a boyfriend! But it's interesting to see how some people my age just can't live without someone by their side.

If that is you, not judging I swear! I'm just kinda curious

I kinda find myself feeling that way sometimes and I find it quite strange.

Perhaps it's FOMO or maybe just regular envy. Either way, if you read this please feel free to tell me what you think.

Sincerely,

FLORIAN

I personally only had a boyfriend, which was very toxic and broke with him, but others stay regardless. From what I experienced and been told it's that boost of serotonin/ happiness you feel knowing you have someone who's supposed to be by your side and love you regardless. I was so happy with my ex but also extremely sad when we fought for the tiniest thing. Some ppl endure it and some others, like me, don't.
Also others have expressed the need of constant validation and physical touch and for that it needs to be someone as close as possible which is a partner or that's the label we have put to it.

Ah yeah I can see why..I guess it would feel nice to have reassurance that someone is there for you
